Hey Seattle

Everything I have written happened. The doctor in question actually told me he has to clean up his patients and the operating theatre himself. Short of walking in on an operation myself, I walked through the whole hospital and saw the cats and dogs.

The attitudes of the middle class can be seen in online forums, their own postings betray their thoughts.

These are observations based on empirical evidence. Believe it or not, as you wish.

This humble scribe writes only what she sees.

Not a completely true picture...especially when you ventured into the medical section and the fact that doctors have to lean their own patients. Yeah, but overall what you have written down is how it is. Sad...hmmm

Hi!

Are you in Bombay now? I'll be going over in July, during the Monsoon season as my friends have told me ;) any tips as to what I should see? I just joined with this blog, mainly cause one of my friends from uni told me that I can probably get a little Bombay network of information going, much faster, if I can find people who've been there!

What are the people like? They don't bother you when you're obviously Australian? I'm Fijian mixed Indian, and I have to go over for the first time to visit family and friends, I look Indian, my accent isn't that ocker, but still...

Rather full of questions! Oh! How have you been dealing with the water issue? Not safe to drink I know, but are you just continually buying from the store? Or is it safe to drink filtered water? What's your view on that?

Are the clubs good? People nice? I'm wondering...should I take over gifts for the people I'm staying with? Are you paying for accomodation there? Or staying with friends? If you are not staying with friends, would you know any good places to stay at? I don't want to be too much of a burden to my friends when I'm there, so I may keep the gifts and then stay somewhere else! My family keeps telling me not to worry about such a thing. What do you think?

What's the exchange rate? Is it better to take travellers cheques, a credit card or eftpos? Or should I also take loads of rupees with me before I leave Australia? Or is it better to get it when I arrive in India? Just trying to get myself organised!

Hmmm, I don't mean to be rude, but are you queer? Just seems like you could be from what I read in your journal, which would be brilliant - cause I am and I was just wondering if Bombay has any women's only groups? Lesbian groups or clubs that I can go to? Do you know any lesbians there that could show me around? I'm 20 and not even out to my family yet! But I look straight, so don't get much bother there. Either way, I may end up working over there, so might as well see what's there, right? Sorry...don't mean to be rude...

What were you doing in Bombay anyway?

I'll probably be there til about August. Hope I'm not too annoying and that you can get back to me in your spare time. Thanks!
