The Day The Earth Stood Still – not my cup of tea
Here’s the deal: Keanu Reeves in an SF flick. A winner you’d think. Neo returns, you’d think. Well, you’d be wrong. Acting: wooden. [no surprises there, I hear you say] Direction: adequate. CGI: excessive and no longer believable. Plotline: hasn’t been changed since the original version. Bit simplistic for the 21st century.
Worst of the matter was, it wasn’t my first choice for a movie. I was hanging out for Woody Allen’s latest Vicky Cristina Barcelona. I was so knackered from my annual cleaning spree and New Year’s revelry that I went to Southbank Cinemas instead of Balmoral. Dang! Indeed.
